Special Articulation Review Process

As a new transfer student, you likely have many questions regarding the application of your previously completed coursework to your UC Merced degree requirements. To assist with this, a preliminary review of your academic record is done during your first semester at UC Merced to identify courses you completed at your previous institution that require faculty review.

Syllabi for these courses will be requested from you by your academic advisor. The syllabus for each course will be submitted to the faculty for review and a decision will be made as to whether or not each course is approved to satisfy lower division coursework for your major specific requirements.

Requesting a Prerequisite Override

If you are interested in taking a course but have not completed the prerequisite(s), you will need permission from the instructor to enroll in the course. Email the instructor of the course and request permission to enroll without the prerequisite; if the instructor allows you into the course, they must approve your enrollment viaaRequisite Override Enrollment Form. You can find the electronic version of the form using this linkhttps://registrar.ucmerced.edu/forms.

If the instructor is not listed for the course you will need to wait until the beginning of the semester and get written permission from the instructor and approve the Requisite Override Enrollment Form at that time.

Using ASSIST.org
