Sarah Greenwood is a popular automotive YouTuber.

She has 616K subscribers on her YouTube channel, ‘Sarah -n- Tuned’.

Sarah is also a mechanic, and a writer.

Introduction-

Sarah Greenwood was born on 19 April 1985 in the United States.

She grew up in a small U.S. town near the Canada border and was raised by her grandmother.

Sarah has a half-sister, Celine, and three stepbrothers.

Love for cars-

Sarah grew up in a family of car enthusiasts, both her parents, and her uncles and aunts, all were car enthusiasts and the passion for cars contracted her.

At 4, she along with her parents started playing a game of recognizing cars from a distance driving down the highway and thanks to this, she started memorizing the types of cars.

Thanks to her photographic memory, she has been able to remember a lot of cars and wanted to grow up to become an automotive designer.

Detailing & learning to drive-

At a young age, Sarah used to watch her father wash and wax his truck outdoors.

At 4, she tried waxing a car and got interested in detailing cars and at that time, she was amused by Mr. Miyagi’s ‘wax on wax off’.

Also, Sarah’s uncle owned a body shop and she used to observe him painting and detailing cars.

Thanks to all these, after growing up, she started proficiently detailing her cars.

At 12, Sarah learnt to drive a manual 4×4 Ford Ranger Pickup Truck under her grandmother’s supervision.

Her grandmother used to own and drive the 4×4 Ford Ranger Truck.

Sarah’s first ever car was a used 1998 Honda EF CRX Si and later, she bought a used 1996 Nissan 240Sx Se.

Then, she sold her Nissan and bought a brand new 2005 Subaru WRX STi, this was her first ever new car.

Joining U.S. Air Force-

At a young age, thanks to Sarah travelling, she experienced being on the military bases and also, many of her family members worked in the military.

After passing high school, she didn’t get good enough grades to join a college and so, joined the United States Air Force out of high school.

Sarah scored 94 percent in the mechanical area of the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test and secured the job of an Aerospace Maintenance Professional in the U.S. Air Force.

From 2003 to 2015, she worked as an Aerospace Maintenance Professional at the United States Air Force.

Sarah was an aerospace mechanic and her job involved working on equipment that serviced aircraft and at that time of exiting from the Air Force, she was a staff sergeant.

While working for the Air Force, she lived in Rhine Valley in Germany, Aiea, etc. and was stationed at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base.

Education & entrepreneurship-

In 2014, Sarah joined American Military University to study for a bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Materials, and Supply Chain Management and graduated in 2017.

After graduating, she started working as an Operations Manager for a Target Distribution Center.

Even though Sarah’s job was great and paying well, she wasn’t satisfied with her job and longed to start her own business.

As she always loved cars, in 2017, she started a business of hard detailing cars.

Inspiration to become a YouTuber-

Sarah has been a big fan of YouTubers, Matt Farah of the ‘TheSmokingTire’ channel, Tj Hunt and David of ‘ThatDudeinBlue.’

She felt that there weren’t many women in the male-dominated automotive YouTube space and so, decided to start her YouTube channel both to share her passion for cars and to inspire women into automotive YouTube.

So, on 5 June 2016, Sarah started her YouTube channel, ‘Sarah -n- Tuned’ and started working with her savings.

On 30 August 2016, she published her first video, ‘570WHP Toyota Supra // Quick Review’.

Even though initially she went flat broke by starting her YouTube channel, eventually, she turned it profitable thanks to the support of her Patrons and the success of her videos.

In 2017, Sarah became a full-time YouTuber.

As of January 2024, she has 616K subscribers on ‘Sarah -n- Tuned’ channel and 125K followers on Instagram.

Sarah earns from a variety of sources, advertisem*nts and ‘Super Thanks’ on her YouTube channel, affiliate marketing, merchandise, sponsorships, and she also accepts donations on Patreon.

Gear-

Sarah uses a Canon EOS R6 as her primary camera and Canon EOS R as her secondary camera.

She uses a GoPro Hero9 camera for live streaming and she sticks a GoPro Hero Max camera on the outside of cars to film them.

Sarah uses a MacBook Pro and edits her videos with Final Cut Pro.

Her second channel-

On 29 April 2021, Sarah started her second YouTube channel, ‘Give It The Beans’.

As of January 2024, she has 45.4K subscribers on it.

She lives in Arizona.
