Residential Waste Collection

Service Information - Montgomery County, Alabama

GARBAGE COLLECTION

*Garbage collection occurs one time per week.

*Households may not share carts/services. Each household must have its own billing account. *

*Carts should be curbside for collection by 5:30 AM. Routes may begin as early as 6 AM. For a variety of reasons, Amwaste trucks will have varying collection times and may not service each home at the same time every week.

*Do not place carts on storm drain covers, storm gutters, steep slopes, or elevated platforms. Do not place carts under low-hanging utility lines, overhead obstructions, or 6’ of a fixed object.

* Carts should be placed on the curb with the lid opening pointing toward the street, no more than 3’ from the curb, and at least 4’ from any fixed object or parked vehicles.

* All waste must be bagged, and each bag should be no heavier than 30 lbs.

* Holiday Schedule: Should an observed holiday fall on a weekday, collection for that week will be delayed by one day. If the collection day is before the holiday, the service will not be affected. For example: (1) Christmas falls on a Monday. The pickup schedule for everyone will be pushed back by one day. Monday to Tuesday, Tuesday to Wednesday, etc. (2) Christmas falls on a Wednesday. Monday and Tuesday routes will run as normal. Wednesday-Friday routes will be delayed by one day. o Observed Holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day

Trash Collection

  • Brush collection is provided on garbage collection day.
  • Each home has a two cubic yard limit per week.
  • Trash should be set out beside the garbage cart.
  • Small items such as leaves and grass must be bagged.
  • Limbs cannot exceed 3 inches in diameter or 4 feet in length, and must be bundled.
  • Bags must not exceed 50 pounds

Payment Options

  • Pay online at amwaste.net. You will need your most recent invoice to do a one-time setup.
  • ACH draft from a checking or savings account. Please download the ACH registration form here or contact us at CustomerCare@amwasteusa.com
  • Pay with a debit or credit card. Call our customer service number above.
  • By check or money order. You can mail it to the address on your invoice or visit our office at the address above. Amwaste does not accept cash payments.
  • Payment is due the 15th of the first month of each quarter.

Holiday Service Schedule
Should a collection day fall on or after a holiday, services will be delayed one day for the holiday week. If a collection day is before a holiday, service days will not be affected. For example, if Christmas Day is on a Tuesday, the Monday route will run as normal. All other days will run one day later. Holidays observed are: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
